Handling the result of a void function in a for loop. Python

I’m new to python and I’m having trouble returning the results of a void function and assigning them to a tuple in a for loop. This is the function:
def draw_image(self, image):
height, width, rows, cols = self.image.shape
width = int(width)
height = int(height)
for x in range(0,height):
for y in range(0,width):
if int(self.image[x,y]>0):
return “1”
return “0”

And this is the way I’m calling it from the main function:
def main():
detector = SOMU([“C:\z2b\programs\ON2\ON2\on2.U”, “C:\z2b\programs\ON2\ON2\on2.U1”, “C:\z2b\programs\ON2\ON2\on2.U2”])
image = detector.run()
#print (image)
raw_results = detector.draw_image(image)
#print (raw_results)
for result in raw_results:
print(result)
if result == “1”:
button = Button(root, text = “Start”, width = 20, font = (“Westerm/italic”, 20), command = lambda: detector.next(image))
button.pack()
button.grid(row = 6, column = 3)

return raw_results

I believe the problem is that, in the for loop, I’m trying to return something before I’ve assigned the result
